Projects & initiatives

Clinical initiatives I’ve contributed to, alongside the wider healthcare transformation vision I’m developing.

B · Clinical pathway transformation

The healthcare innovation vision I’m developing, with glaucoma as its first proposed clinical application.

Beyond technology. Towards integrated healthcare solutions.

Developing the clinical capability, digital infrastructure and integrated pathways needed to make new models of care work in practice.

The future of healthcare innovation is not simply about introducing new technologies. It is about translating innovation into clinically effective, operationally sustainable healthcare services.

I’m developing a vision for an AI-enabled clinical pathway transformation business, focused on the design, implementation and ongoing assurance of digitally integrated models of care.

At its core is a systems-led approach: connecting clinical expertise, workforce capability and digital solutions within coordinated healthcare pathways.

The ambition is to move beyond standalone technologies towards integrated solutions that can be implemented, evaluated and sustained within real clinical environments.

Three connected priorities

  1. 01

    Clinical capability

Strengthening the practical expertise, clinical judgement and workforce readiness needed to deliver advanced models of care.

  2. 02

    Digital infrastructure & AI

Integrating digital systems, clinical data and appropriately validated AI technologies into real-world healthcare delivery.

  3. 03

    Clinical integration & pathway delivery

Bringing people, technology and clinical processes together to establish coordinated, effective and clinically governed services.

These three elements are intended to work together as part of one integrated approach to healthcare transformation.

First clinical applicationIn development

Integrated, AI-enabled glaucoma care

Glaucoma is the first proposed application of this wider vision, drawing on my experience in specialist glaucoma services and virtual ophthalmology.

The ambition is to develop an integrated glaucoma care model that connects clinical capability, digital monitoring and AI-enabled decision support within a functioning clinical pathway.

With an initial focus on Saudi Arabia, this concept is in development, with opportunities for clinical, technology and institutional collaboration being explored.

The wider ambition

To establish a repeatable approach to clinical pathway transformation that enables healthcare organisations to move from adopting individual technologies to delivering integrated, sustainable models of care.
